The project was presented to the president of Costa Rica, Oscar Arias, on October 5 last, and described as a project of national interest due to the number of jobs it will generate for the country.
The real estate project promoted by Akasvayu is to be constructed on an area of 2,300,000 m² of exotic beaches with a series of cliffs along the coastline, offering magnificent views at a height of 70 m above sea level. A marina is to be constructed on one of the beaches, with more than 150 moorings. Furthermore the project includes the construction of four grand luxury hotels, a casino, a shopping mall, a conventions hall and 1,200 homes of different types.
Akasvayu signed an agreement with the golfer Greg Norman who, through the company GNGCD and a series of collaborating companies, will design the golf course included in the project, and the training school.
The new development is just 60 minutes from San José and 45 minutes from the airport. The project, which is planned to be completed within approximately 4 years, will give jobs to over 3,000 workers during the construction phase and once constructed, will create 1,000 jobs. As a result, this promotion, the most important of its kind ever undertaken in Costa Rica, is considered of national interest to the country.
Akasvayu is in the process of closing deals with different investors and banks that have expressed their interest in participating in the project. It is also negotiating with different top- ranking hotel chains for the management and operation of the four hotels and the casino.
